In San Marco, Honduras, this is the site of wonderful learning and growing for fortunate young ladies.
This is the site of one of two sewing schools in Southern Honduras under the umbrella of Mission Lazarus . The students are taught the trade of sewing in addition to spiritual growth and a school education. In Honduras, children are required to go to school to the age of 10. However, no one checks to see that a child is really attending school, so if they are needed for work at home, they do not go to school. The girls at this school, will use their skills to make money at home by sewing things such as school uniforms, which are required in all schools or moving to the northern region of Honduras for a job in the garment factories which will provide them with money which they can send back home to their families.
Here are some of the girls in the school.
These are dresses for a wedding which the students have been making.
